Janea Scott was born in St. Paul, MN and has strong family roots in the Rondo Community. Janea grew up around and witnessed firsthand addiction and the negativity impact it has on individuals, families, and communities. In 2014, Janea and her late husband Dawahn Littles opened up their first business, Urban Treasures “Natural Hair and Design”. The business started as a hair salon and later expanded to a Thrift Store where her husband Dawahn gave back to the community by offering low price goods in the Frogtown neighborhood of St.Paul. When Dawahn tragically passed away in October 2017, the business was closed and Janea thought on how to give back to the community and keep his vision alive. Soon after Janea was inspired to open a Human Services business called “Treasures Place” a sober living business dedicated to providing housing for individuals in recovery.
